CSAIS-Chinese Consulate arrange Essay Writing Competition

To showcase the real essence of strategic partnership of Pak-China relations consisting of multidimensional trustworthy cooperation

LAHORE: The Center for South Asia & International Studies, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China, Lahore, The School of Communication Studies and University of the Punjab have launched an essay competition on the theme of the 73rd anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations. Chinese Consul General Lahore Mr. Zhao Shiren said that the Chinese Consulate General would coordinate for cash prizes and appreciation certificate to winners. CG Zhao termed essay competition as an essential part of celebrations of the 73 years of diplomatic ties.

All enrolled students of University of the Punjab are eligible to participate in the contest by showing their writing expressions on the 73rd anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations.
Prof. Dr. Noshina Saleem, the Director. School of Communication Studies, labeled holding of essay competition on Pak-China Diplomatic Relations as useful for the students for their better understanding and first giant step towards formation of national narrative about the CPEC and formation of corridor of knowledge in the days to come.

In a virtual launching ceremony, CSAIS Executive Director Dr. Mehmood Ul Hassan Khan said that essay competition aimed to showcase the real essence of strategic partnership of Pak-China relations consisting of multidimensional trust worthy cooperation, multi-purposed paths of socio-economic prosperity and last but not least, multi-corridors under the flagship of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Since its beginning it has been the prime example of extraordinary ties of cooperation in the diverse sectors of macro-economy, investment, industrial & agricultural cooperation, trans-regional connectivity, modernization, government-to-government, people-to-people, cultural exchanges and special economic zones.

The essay competition will last for 10 days from May 6 to May 16, invoking students’ insights and intellectual perceptions on the subject of the China-Pakistan Diplomatic Relations and of course the CPEC’s contribution in the Pakistan’s economy, industrial growth, agriculture advancement, trans-regional connectivity, modernization, and railway & transport systems in the country. The judge panel consisted of CG Zhao, Prof. Dr. Noshina Saleem, Director the School of Communication Studies, University of the Punjab, Prof. Dr. Hanan Ahmad (Hammed Nizami Chair), Mr. Riaz Ahmed Malik Director Media, the CSAIS, Mr. Shams Abbasi, Deputy Director, APP and Mr. Zulkafil Hassan Khan, the President of the society for International Relations & Law, The Institute of Legal Studies Lahore.

The results will be announced on May 17 with cash prizes for the winners.
